20180409: “Los corredores de la calle ven los estacionamientos de Camino Nuevo, San Juan de los Lagos” Collage on SALE Now.

OK, Art lovers, here is a little Photoshop Collage which I will ship to you from here in Mexico.

Camino Nuevo, San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco MX Street Photography. These street runners have several parking lots in the area & spend the day chasing cars up & down Camino Nuevo to earn a few pesos by helping tourists find hotels & parking.

Sitting on the street as life passes me by, I just shot the feces out of it. Having more pieces than the image would allow… typical photographer.

20180326: Artesanias de Jalisco, a Basilica plaza stall craftsman!

201800326 Artesanias de Jalisco-3310FB

This senor & I got chatting.

While my Spanish is still quite poor, I did understand he has been selling in front of this church on the plaza for many years some 40 or more years.

I understand his family are the people who sew this pieces he sells & other family members are here at other times.

I am no expert on needle craft but his pieces are very nice, the prices are reasonable too.

But just like my work, people only what cheap stuff, so he sells small pieces & only once in a while one of the shirts. The same as people here wanting an instant photo and not caring that i am a professional photographer. Just the knowledge to use the camera equipment goes beyond their understanding so a woman or man toiling for hours on a lace shirt is also expensive to them. (Yes, peasants are poor people by rule too folks)

A close up,

Since I have seen the “Chinese Blind Stitch”, I would say this is similar in tiny working.

201800326 Artesanias de Jalisco-3317FB

Just a couple of his pieces, I walk thru the plaza all the time and see women working away on a hot plate piece or a small piece to frame.

I suppose if someone wanted to come buy some pieces and import to their country, many an old person would be very happy. He 1600 pesos for that piece above, about $89USD.

Easily what a USA woman buys bikinis & blouses for.

Another piece,

Any way, I may shoot some more of his stuff & a few others around but, if you are looking for “Old time Hand made Mexican craftworks” San Juan de los Lagos, in Jalisco Mexico does have it share of such beautiful items.

20180312: SanJuan de los Lagos, LIVE Music, finally…

Anyone who knows me knows I like Live Music that is real music.

Well, today I happened to be on the plaza when  band did a little warming the crowd up & then I stepped away for a bit & returned when the politicians were presenting awards.

Then a bit more music was played.

Yeah, hand held both times, second time I had a mic from my kit on but a little.

Nope, I did not do much editing, no one here in town will care much. So kind of just the raw footage as I cut to just the songs and a couple seconds afterwords splicing them all together.

Enjoy a decent Mexican band with people who had singing voices & played real music.

20180306: Slight revision of Latest 2 Posters of the Basilica de San Juan

20180305 Basilica church & Saint objects_02FB

OK, so yesterday I did a couple of quick posters. I knew that the print shop had to service their digital print as it was having some normal issues with color spotting & streaks.

So I just ran those posters out as proofs. But since I did a couple things wrong, yep some one called me on it. (Thanks to notperfectwifemother…)

So here is those posters with some more work done on them & the comment being taking in stride to help fix the posters & yes, the print outs were cleaned up yesterday.

As they say, “War is hell!”, & with my war with USA/0.001% Elite Rich going strong in The Indigenous populations favor of defeating the corrupt criminals very soon, I of course have to keep my income coming in.

Enjoy folks!

20180305: 2 versions of the San Juan Saint posters

20180305 Basilica church & Saint objects_02FB

When the Spiritual Being Luci, known locally at the La Senorita de San Juan de los Lagos came to visit me the 2nd time. There where children & wildlife in the vision.

So this first image with all the children playing on the sign, is just kind of fun.

Different time thru the plaza, looking for clouds to make it nice.

20180228: San Juan de los Lagos: Saint Object Images poster

Well, with the work to enlarge the tiny photo, I decided to go shoot the “doll” in the Church alter…

Left the church & saw the rainbow in the fountain, OK fine I shoot anything … I’m just a photographer! ha ha

20180227: San Juan Saint…

Life in a foreign country can be tough, I had a man come and ask for a poster to be made for him. I did what he asked & he decided that “Oh, no I just want the one image.”

Fine, 56 years of running businesses of my own & other, I did the new poster.

Again, Oh no, senor. I want my wife’s favorite photo turned into a large poster…

So, I just shrugged my shoulders & told him to bring that photo to me & I would see what I could do for him…

Finally, I got that photo, spent several hours doing the job of “museum style” restoring and enlarging it.

He was happy.

After 10 hours of working on this I got paid 50 pesos, yep, 5 Mexican pesos an hour. about 20 cents USA. In the USA I made from $15hr to $200hr.

I enlarged this from a 1 inch by 2 inch photo to a 9 inch to 15 inch size print.  Not great over all to me, and I would have to do some more work by my standards but heck, the client was happy.

20180203: Dia de la Candelarai poster #3 in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico

So the Feb 2 event is over & after in some cases walking for 30 days to get here, Dia de la Candelaria is over.

Thursday night I had a good place to see the light show on the “Saint’s Church” and made this poster of it. The big center photo is of the “Saint’d Object” in side the church itself.

20180130: Mexican Aztec Calendario #2

One of the “runners” for the parking lots stopped by to look at the calendars & showed me that he also had an “Aztec necklace”.

I had given one of my Aztec #1 calendars to another one of the runner who when he passes by me raises his hand and hollers “How” to me.

Beginning closer to First Nation in my actions & beliefs, of course I return the gesture & being after the new year has begun, calendars are now advertising for me, so called him over and gave him one.

Well this guy also wanted an Aztec calendario but more “Aztec” not the other tribes so much.

Last night I did this design & while I did not get to see the runner today to see what he thinks, I did like it myself enough to get a couple printed off.

20180128: opps, the coconut man knows where I hang my sign out!

20180127 Church & saint object-1284_FB

fresh coconut meat… one of those things I loved about all the traveling I did as a kid.

Coco-pina (coconut-pineapple) ice cream is one of my favorites from those 1960s Mexico & South Pacific Island travels, so while coco-pina ice cream is a little harder to find here, I do get to have it & a local made yogurt in ‘MANY FLAVORS’ also has coco-pina in a store I found. (Chia, mango, apple, Mixed fruits, Guava, strawberry, plus some I have not translated the names of but are good any way)

However, the other week I was out selling on the street & he passed by with “coconut water which is good, but I like the meat a little better. So he had a small bag on the cart for me to see and point at.

Few days later I passed him selling on a corner he hangs out on & bought some more. My first bag was 5 pesos, the 2nd he wanted 10 pesos. A Deal either way, 18 pesos to the dollar about 55 cents for a bag with chile & lime on it. The red plastic bottle is the chile powder (not hot just flavor safe for a 2 year old to chew on) & you can see his bag of limes next to it.

Well, not sure if he just likes to chat to the ceviche vendor on the corner or the local corner store for the limes, but yeah. I walked over to the ceviche cart & got a bag of coco, teasing him on is  it 5 or 10 pesos? yes 10 pesos is quite regular price. 15 pesos for a coconut water in a plastic bag & straw which a lot of people buy….

So now he will check to see if I want some as he passes by… (good thing coconut is not fattening). Yes, a lot of food carts go past daily and walking around is dangerous with all the different food vendor carts & stands/stalls.

Since I had my camera in hand, it was a shot to take!

Using the machete to chop off the hard shell, then a smaller knife to cut about half a coconut up in the bag. Squeeze a lime after pouring in some chile powder … yummm!
