20171121: Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 “L” repair test shots. Looking Good!

So this past weekend was some part of Mexican Independence Celebration, the locals that speak English could not explain it fully to me.

But with the 16-35mm back in action, it was time to go play in the night with it.

Nothing better than a reflection in the night when you don’t have stars to shoot!

My Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 just is not able to pull this off, standing a little further back and the wall containing the fountain hides the reflection of the crosses.

Most the time this fountain is either on or dry… so I shot both sides.

Just a little fun in the lights…

Well, with a few shots with the “fixed” Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 “L” II … I think it is going to be just FINE!

20170912: OK, all equipment is in the new landing zone, studio building time!

OK, so being a night photographer, yeah, I am working long & hard to make the place a working set-up for both the business I need & the house to live in. working till 4am, then back up at 10:30am… I have progress…

The 4am shot, yes, I am tired, the lousy photo is in part due to a dirty lens.

but at 3pm the next afternoon, progress.

I have clothes lines for wet clothes on the patio, above the laundry sink & in the banos. Keeping them full and moving stuff around as needed, the pile is growing smaller..

Yes, I can walk the whole house & not stub a toe if i stay in the middle of the rooms. But at least I can see where stuff is & organize it.

And I needed to finish the screening of the windows, here is the front door.

So yes, with a lot of patience & the forethought see what I can use where to make a business, I survived the 20 months of hell in that little room.

I am hoping to hang my signs of open for business in about 2 more days.

I hope I inspire a few people to “hang tough & be patience” to make their dreams come true too!

20170910: A Mexican 2018 Calendar, one down, more coming.

So I have the image and poster of this church & while people liked it, everyone locally keeps saying put a calendar on it…

OK, fine, many hours of work. (I love my drawing tablet for work like this & having my new apartment with room to work too)

I have added a Mexican calendar to the image, dressed it up a bit too, making it more fun for me.

2018 New Year San Juan_Calendar_FB

I will have to see what I can do to offer this calendar for sale outside my town of San Juan de los Lagos.

Yes, this the church of the “La Senorita de San Juan de los Lagos Saint”.

However, I can mail it from here myself so I may set up my Zenfolio to accept the orders or you can place them here on this website. 20170106: Some days you need a bucket to sit in…

20170106-pot-to-sit-in-6852fb

Yes, I entered my courtyard and the cat was just sitting there.

I laughed and after putting my stuff in my house, came back out with my camera and tried to get the cat to turn it’s head towards me.

If you know cats, you can understand that I just gave up and shot this.

It is cooler around here & I assume the bucket full of dirt had warmed up in the sun, made a nice comfortable seat for the cat.

One of 2 courtyard cats, not really anyone’s cat it just does courtyard duty chasing mice.
