Cinco de Mayo in Downtown Los Angeles, street photography meetup.com group, wandered around for a while and just as I thought it was a dud. One of the organizers approached me and asked if I wanted to shoot the entertainment. I jumped at the chance.

I even had my 580exII flash on me, so natural light and fill flash. Up on the stage, moving back and forth for several different acts. Some not really worth much, but others,

Couple of guys set up instruments. Bit tough to get decent backgrounds. This shot works for me, but I think the depth of field should have been shallower. 2013

Anyway, these are to show you some samples of getting in close for the shots.

Even someone like me that tends to stay on the outside edges shooting, can benefit from getting in close.

Well that’s the post for today. Had to do some running around for/with my dad. So I didn’t get to go chase any photos today. But in the morning I’m hoping to sneak up the coast a couple of miles, maybe the sunrise will surprise me.
